Theo Rossi Is Keeping The Culture Rocking & Hydrated At The Hip Hop Film Festival.
Theo Rossi is putting culture first. Best known for his role as “Shades” in Marvel’s Luke Cage and “Juice” in Sons of Anarchy, the actor turned executive producer is focused on building and supporting filmmakers who grew up in the global culture of Hip Hop… mind and body.
Originally, from Staten Island, Rossi grew up with the culture of Hip Hop in his veins. This includes having a knack for storytelling.. which led him to Hollywood, where he embodies roles that only a son of the culture could bring depth.
After finding success and critical acclaim, Rossi understood that the culture has many stories that are untold due to lack of access and decided to “show improve”.
His affiliation with the Hip Hop Film Festival is two fold. First, he is offering an acquisition meeting to the winner of the Hip Hop Film Festival’s screenwriter’s contest powered by FINAL DRAFT through his award wining production company DOSDUDES.
Second, he is keeping festival goers hydrated with his premium bottled water Ounce Water. The water company both employs the community and encourages people to drink more water, particularly in areas where the common drink is malt liquor or soda.
The Hip Hop Film Festival runs from August 1 to August 4th at the National Black Theatre in Harlem. For passes and more info on the Hip Hop Film Festival’s ACT UP! Screenwriter’s contest, visit the site at HIP HOP FILM FESTIVAL.ORG
